Ian H. Merriam Library
Macris School renovated and renamed its library during the 2010-2011 school year. The changes include an expansion of the physical space, the addition of new computers, new books, student-friendly furniture, and a beautiful mural that was painted by the art club students under the direction of our elementary principal and high school art teacher.
The library is now also equipped with a new cataloging database, known as Follett Destiny. This catalog system provides password protected web access for students, parents, and teachers in order to access online resources and digital books from the comfort of home. The library will continue to add more digital books and paper books yearly for all grades and genres.
Parents, teachers, and students can all access our catalog, hold books via the web, and read our digital books online by just going to macris.follettdestiny.com and logging in with your user name and password.
Thank you for supporting Ian H. Merriam Library and spreading the joy of reading. Enjoy our books!
“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.”
Jorge Luis Borges
ParentsWeb is a web portal that allows students and parents the ability to access academic information such as attendance, grades, and homework online. You can access the portal at the following link ParentsWeb. The Macris School District Code is MS-HND. As long as you have given the school a valid email address, you will be able to create your own account. If you need technology support, please email our IT department.
We hope this change allows us to stay more in touch with our parents, stay up to date with news, and keep track of all of your child’s academic accomplishments!
What should I study study and where should I study are two important questions students ask themselves during their high school years. Our college counseling program works with students to help guide them through this process of self-discovery. Naviance is a platform that helps facilitate this learning through online tools such as personality assessments, interviews with practioners in various fields, and even preparation for the SAT test. The platform also helps counselors case manage and track students through the U.S. college application process. Students and parents will begin using Naviance toward the end of their freshman year up to post-graduation for alumni who may still need vocational/college counseling.
